[SHOPPING REVIEW] O.W.L Eyewear Concept Store @ Sunway Pyramid

Hello fashionistas!

With the Geek look being in trend this season, Korean Fashion spectacles are the rave now. Remember how our favourite oppa Kim Soo Hyun rocked the spectacles in the drama You Who Came From The Stars as Professor Do Min Joon? Many other Korean idols rock those large-framed spectacles flawlessly. Spectacles, which had previously been classed as purely functional, were transformed into an ultra-chic fashion accessory, and the geekier, the better!  In fact, you might even notice that some people's glasses don't even have lenses, they are purely for decoration. #hipster

Last weekend, I was fortunate enough to attend the grand opening of O.W.L Eyewear Concept Store at Sunway Pyramid. This is where you can get stylish Korean Inspired eyewear! Wearing glasses has never been this cool. O.W.L is a Korean Inspired Eyewear brand newly founded in 2014 to provide prescription glasses, sunglasses and non-prescription polarized sunglasses at all in one price to the style savvy. It perfectly blends culture of excellence with attention paid to details to create a perfect alchemy between aesthetics and technology - they are more than just glasses, they are works of art. I have been having lazy eyes since I was small, and my mum always wanted me to get a pair of spectacles, which I had been procrastinating. So I was so excited to get myself my first pair of spectacles at O.W.L!

You can easily spot O.W.L Eyewear Concept Store at the Lower Ground floor of Sunway Pyramid, just opposite to Daiso!

You will be spoilt for the 2000 choices of eyewear design available at O.W.L. The quality is ensured because they deal directly with the source of raw materials and manufacturers from Korea. :)

The most unique part about O.W.L is that the glasses are not kept in glass casings, but in open racks! You can choose and test the glasses until you find your perfect pair. And you can take your time because there will be no sales companion escorting you until you ask for advise. I feel really comfortable in this way, as I always take very long to make decision hehe. And we all love playing around with the glasses to try different looks, don't we? ;)

O.W.L = Original We Love

Stylish glasses, at incredibly affordable prices!
Their all-in-one prices: Frame + Lens = for only RM169 to RM269 wow!

Each individual frame from the O.W.L Glasses range is crated like an art piece to satisfy the demands of young adults and fashionistas who are constantly looking for something that is outstanding and different. They come in a variety of designs and colours, catering to various face shapes so it isn't difficult to find a good frame that will fit you perfectly. O.W.L divided their glasses into 4 big categories based on their variety of designs that suit people of different age groups.

Executive - command authority with metallic hues and classic shapes
Fashionista - Make a big statement with looks fresh off the catwalk
Rebel - Create new trends to call your own with unconventional styles
Weekender - Take the day in stride with bright colours and fun patterns

So, what O.W.L are you? ;)

The chunky tortoise shells caught my eyeballs immediately.

My favourite pink!

.....and even wooden frames! We were told that this type of frames are selling like hot cakes now. They are really special and pretty, but I dare not wear them everyday to classes because I will be getting too much of unnecessary attention haha. But if you are bold enough, you should totally get this!

Here's my dear Carinn and I trying out matching glasses, hers in silver colour, mine in golden colour. I really love the classy gold details at the side but too bad the frame size is a little too small for my face :(

I somehow knew that I would pick Rebel because I am #swag like that hahaha no la kidding. I love glasses come under the category of Weekender as well, I love how the playful colours of the glasses can brighten up one's outfit effortlessly!

As usual, I was overwhelmed by the choices they have and I had no idea which one to pick. So I asked help from Kenji, one of the staff of O.W.L. He told me not to worry because whether you have a round, oval or square face, turns out there is a science to finding the right pair for you. The general rule is to select glasses that are opposite of your face shape. For example, if you are like me having a round face, don't select round glasses. Pick something that is rectangular or geometric to provide balance. This is very important because the right pair of glasses enhance your appearance! Kenji also told me that glasses with bigger frames would suit me better.

Kenji and Carinn both think that I look better with the specs on the left, because the lighter colour tone of the frame makes me look fairer overall. However, thinking that this is my first pair of glasses, I wanted to opt for a pair which can match my daily outfits better.

And so....I decided to get the one on the right! Which is this one! How do I look? :)

After I chose the frame that I like, Kenji arranged me for a quick eye test on the spot to determine my power.

I was then brought into a small room to do a more comprehensive eye test, which lasted about 10 minutes. The optician was really kind and professional as he did a good job adjusting the glasses to my comfort level after knowing that it was my first time getting glasses. He also said that I can come back to the shop if I ever feel any discomfort with the glasses afterwards.

In just 2 hours, my glasses were ready! I was really impressed by how efficient their service is. The glasses come with a case and spectacle cloth. They actually have both hard and soft casings but I chose the hard casing because I think it provides better protection to my baby glasses. However, you can check out the soft casings too because they are really cute!

My favourite maroon colour hehe. It comes under the category of Rebel, priced at RM169 including the frames and the lenses. I wear the glasses only when I am using laptop or during lectures, they are comfortable and I don't feel dizzy at all! The frames are feather light and claimed to have excellent muscle memory for their original shape. Bend or twist them, they will spring back as good as new! Isn't that cool?

A big thank you to my dear Carinn for allowing me to tag along on that day! I had so much fun shopping together with you. Check out her blog too and see which pair of glasses she got for herself! :)

If you were to ask me what distinct advantage that O.W.L has over its competition, I would say that it is their excellent customer service. Good customer service is the lifeblood of any business. You can offer promotions and slash prices to bring in as many new customers as you want, but unless you can get some of those customers to come back, your business won't be profitable for long. What makes a customer stay? It is more than what you say or do for your customers. It is giving customers a chance to make their feelings known. At O.W.L, the staffs are knowledgeable and observant enough to notice customer's preference. They give you ample time to make decision, they don't follow you everywhere you go - but that doesn't mean that they are not ready to serve you - the moment you need help, they are always there. Thank you O.W.L for a wonderful shopping experience. I would definitely recommend to my friends and family!

Good news to share with everyone! Do you love #selfie like I do? Now you can submit your selfies of your choice of eyewear from any O.W.L Concept Store and get at least 50 likes on Facebook, 3 highest likes winner of the week will win any piece of FREE eyewear from them! So selfie kings and queens, what are you waiting for? :D
