[FASHION REVIEW] Get Versatile with Te Chi Chi!

Often feet are the most forgotten part of the human body - in fact, it totally deserves a treat. Good shoes take you to good places, don't you agree? :) Therefore, investing on a good pair of shoes will never go wrong. Clothes may be seasonal, but a good pair of shoes can go a long way!

I was really happy to receive the pretty pink boxes at my doorstep a few weeks back - they are the Te Chi Chi shoes that I have anticipated for long! Check out these pretty babies!

Left: Brown Oxford Leather Shoes with Studs (Product Code: TE222-21 here)
Right: Black Stylenanda Inspired Bar Buckle Sandals (Product Code: TEX258-XC10 here)

A study found that the average woman has 20 pairs of shoes, but only wears five of them regularly! That's why we all love shoes that can wear with almost anything, one that can be worn in many different settings. Talk about versatility. Below, I created two different looks with each pair of shoes, two (or even more!) looks for the price of one! Isn't it a good deal? :) Let's see how we can pair them!

Brown Oxford Leather Shoes with Studs
(Product Code: TE222-21 here)
1. The Office Lady Look
Oxford shoes are inspired by menswear, therefore they make a polished impression for office work. This pair of Oxfords with a subtle pointy toe look best on us women regardless of our body shapes. In most cases, it's the cut of the pants that will determine whether or not you've got a winning combination. So in this outfit, make sure to show off your ankles and that the pants are slim or tapered, because wide leg cuts make you look shorter. In that sense you will have a good balance and sense of proportion in your outfit. Moreover, you wouldn't like it if your pants cover up the pretty studs on the Oxfords!

2. Back To School
If you are daring and adventurous in trying out different kind of outfits, you may want to try pairing flat oxford shoes with skater skirts. The masculinity of the shoe can be balanced with the feminine touches of the skirt. Add some playfulness to the outfit with a pair of lace bow detail socks and bowler hat. And you will definitely be the most fabulous girl in your school!

Black Stylenanda Inspired Bar Buckle Sandals
(Product Code: TEX258-XC10 here)
1. It's all about black and white - monochrome
They say opposite attracts, hence there is no better colour combination than black and white! Black and white monochrome look is the simplest yet most chic of looks. This pair of Black Stylenanda Inspired Bar Buckle Sandals from Te Chi Chi doubles the impact of monochrome and turns you into a fashionista instantly. Top off the look with the stylish black wide brim floppy hat. I totally love this minimalist outfit! How about you?

2. Be your own rock star - Street Punk
Sometimes we probably get tired of having to look all feminine and classy - we want an escape. Try this punk look with your ripped high-waisted jeans and a crop top with words that tell the world who you are and how you are not going to care of what others think of you - that's really the heart of being punk. Studded wristbands and bracelets give the edgy look, and lastly, the black sandals to complete the whole punk and hipster look.

So where to get these pretty & versatile shoes?

Te Chi Chi is a brand that brings you access to the hottest and latest trends from the land of Gangnam Style and Wonder Girls! So once again, thank you for taking your time to read my blog. It has been a while since my last post but I love all of you who still visit my blog and tell me you miss me despite my lacking of updates. I really put in a lot of effort in each and every single post, including this one, because I truly believe that I have to go wholeheartedly into every post I do in order to touch my readers' hearts and to really understand and give what my readers expect from my words. I may not be the best blogger - I don't have thousands of followers, I don't have a long list of sponsors to back me up, I may not be able to express myself well enough, and I don't own a good camera for higher quality photos. But I wish that I am able to create an emotional connection with you, just by words. That's my ultimate goal of being a blogger. Okay this is getting more and more irrelevant, I better stop here haha. Till next time! :)

#1 Eunice is a name I gave myself when I was 13. I desired for a change at that time and I must say, it really did make a lot of difference. Full name is Eunice Tham Jia Wei. Not many people know how to write my Chinese name 谭佳薇 because even I find it hard.

#2 174cm is my height. I don't love or hate my height. And no I don't play basketball. But tall guys who play sports are my cup of tea. #yesssss

#3 I prefer writing to speaking. In that way, I can compose my thoughts clearer and better. And that is why I blog.

#4 I am an introvert and a good listener, probably a little anti-social. Prefer small group gatherings rather than big group.

#5 I own Grade Eight Piano Certificate since I was 13 but I can hardly play one complete piece now except Canon in D and Fur Elise.

#6 Youngest in the family but people say I don't look like one.

#7 I don't have a strong heart but I still go for roller coaster because I love to scream like nobody's business.

#8 I am a hopeless romantic.

#9 I don't go to cinema. Cinemas are for couples. Duh.

#10 I've been a perfectionist for as long as I can remember. Then when I learnt about OCD (Obsessive compulsive disorder), I know this just describes me - I get angry when I cannot write in a straight line so I will rub them off and write again. (This rule still applies when I left only 5 minutes in the exam hall.)

#11 I cry easily. One thing I want to change of myself.

#12 I always customize gifts. So when I handmade cards/DIY stuffs for you, you know you are precious to me. :)

#13 I am a loyal friend. I may lose contact with you but I do care, and I will always appreciate the friendship and memories we share.

#14 Best decision made in life - took part in St John Competition in 2009. Because this leads me to what I am studying now - medicine, and I am proud of that.
What I regretted the most - letting go of someone I loved in 2013.

#15 9 out of 10 bras in my wardrobe are purple in colour. I have no idea why. And no I don't like purple. I don't have a favourite colour.

#16 I cannot ride a bicycle, I cannot swim, and I cannot drive (okay maybe I can, but I don't).

#17 I care too much about what others think of me to the extent that I lose myself and I forget what I wanted at the very first place.

#18 I love everything that's old - my bolster, clothing, songs, books, letters, people.

#19 Midnight > morning
      heels > flats
      cafe > mamak
      noodles > rice
      vegetables > meat

#20 My dream is to go on a Ferris Wheel with my love.

[FASHION] Tips On What To Wear To Prom (Element-themed) feat. Shopbop

There are very few times in your life when you get to wear a truly glamorous evening dress or a dashing tuxedo. Prom night it is, one of the night that you will remember for the rest of your life. Here comes the dress-related anxiety - I believe many of my friends have been cracking their heads looking for a dress for our coming prom night! Evening dresses come in all shades and styles, and the hunt for just the right one can be difficult. Besides, the dress has to match with the theme this year, which is The Four Elements - Fire, Water, Wind or Earth. Therefore, here you go, some tips on dressing up for an ''element-themed'' dinner!

Fire is more than just flames. It is the heat. The kinetic energy of the reaction. It burns, it shines and it flickers. To those who chose this theme, create the same effect with something that's red. Something that stands out in a room and is daring in design. This hot red Lela Rose off the shoulder gown that you can find at Shopbop is perfect for the lady who is fierce, passionate, and not afraid to stand out!

Water is fluid and sensual. Imagine that refreshing and purifying feel after a rain. Now you can look like the water goddess in this silver Joanna August gown, showing a peek of leg through an elegant side slit. The soft shimmer of imitation pearls on the clutch gives a romantic charm to the whole look.

Air, though invisible, is irreplaceable in sustaining life. This Marchesa Peony Dress conveys similar qualities as air: light, pure, and playful, making you look like an angel. Complement the look with a furry clutch from Nina Ricci and Monique Lhuillier Sylvie Headpiece, and you are good to go!

Earth is full of rocks and minerals which allow growth of vegetation and support life. The beautiful floral prints on the dress reflects our Mother Nature. The sleek leather Michael Kors Collection Lacy booties and the fringed leather clutch give an edgy look. You can go crazy with the accessories that you feel fulfill your element!

[BEAUTY REVIEW] NATTA COSME Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish

Popular in Asia especially Taiwan and Japan, black sugar claimed to be a healthier and tastier option than white processed sugar. But do you know that black sugar is good for our skin?

Source: google image

I have a new beauty discovery to share with my readers - a delicious way to pamper your skin - the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish! Once again, thank you Natta Cosme for sponsoring me the product. You can read my previous Natta Cosme's post here. :)

Imported from Korea,
the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish is packaged in a small black jar containing 60g of product.
Some notable ingredients include black sugar, shea butter and cranberry seed oil.

First of all, I love that this product is called a facial polish, and not a facial scrub. Doesn't it just sound more luxurious and less harsh? ;) It is alcohol and paraben free, contains no artificial coloring, and the brand doesn't test on animals. And also what makes me - and I bet everyone - curious about this product is that, why black sugar? Black sugar actually has been proven to aid in the removal of dead skin cells and blackheads. It exfoliates dry skin with ease and adds a glossy smooth look to the skin. I have really dry skin which makes my skin becomes uneven with dry patches. These dry patches causes makeup to apply unevenly and looks ''caked''. Hence I have a feeling that the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish is exactly what I need! Always remember skin that is regularly exfoliated is healthier skin, both in appearance and function!

It comes with a plastic protective lid.

The moment I opened the lid, I could smell a sugary scent, just like black sugar!

Gentle reminder:
It doesn't come with a spatula, so make sure your hands are clean before using it!

Trying on my hands first!
I can see some black sugar granules, but surprisingly they are not that harsh as they seem.
Overall, the texture is quite smooth! Love it!

Directions of use
1. After cleansing your face, mix a tiny amount with 2-3 drops of water, and lightly massage it onto your face.
2. Use circular motions, clockwise for a few counts, then anti-clockwise. This will achieve the most complete exfoliation.
3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, pat dry, apply toner and moisturizer.
4. Use it once or twice a week.

It felt really lovely on the skin and after I rinsed it off, my skin was smooth and hydrated. I have to resist the urge to touch my face constantly hahaha. It didn't leave my skin red like a lot of other exfoliators. I think the correct way to use exfoliators properly is to lightly massage them into your skin, not scrubing them in. Gentle is the key word! However, the difference was not really visible through naked eyes. But then, Rome wasn't built in a day so I guess I will have to use it for some time before the result becomes obvious. :)

Natta Cosme is selling Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish at RM 63.20 instead of RM 79.00! Click here to see the deal :D
